Put down your guns.
Put down your swords.
I know what you want.
Just say it with words.
I’ve had enough of this fight,
It goes on and on.
Just call me up
When you’ve decided you’ve won.
What is the point
Of pushing us away
You think you are free
But no, not this way.
And although it hurts
To stick by your side,
That’s what sisters are for.
I’m here for the ride.
You know it’s funny,
I wrote this poem for you.
It’s kind of lame,
But I think it will do.
Put down your swords.
I know what you want.
Just say it with words.
I’ve had enough of this fight,
It goes on and on.
Just call me up
When you’ve decided you’ve won.
What is the point
Of pushing us away
You think you are free
But no, not this way.
And although it hurts
To stick by your side,
That’s what sisters are for.
I’m here for the ride.
You know it’s funny,
I wrote this poem for you.
It’s kind of lame,
But I think it will do.
Haha I thought this poem was really cute and it had depth at the same time. Well done!
ReplyDeleteI love this! It really shows the different facets of relationships within families.
ReplyDeleteI love the rhythm and rhyme in your poem! It flows very well. Also, I love the last stanza especially. It really screams 'sibling' to me!
